Evaluation of research
This is my evaluation of all the research that I have to done to create my own music magazine. I will discuss the reasons why I done things the way I did and I will give my opinion on some of the tasks that we had to complete. The first thing that I done in our class was bring in samples of music magazines such as Billboard and Vibe. In doing this, it would give us ideas and inspiration of what we could do to make our own magazine look professional, it was also useful to look back on if I got stuck and didn't know what to put in my magazine. The most helpful piece of work that we done was the questionnaire and interview with random people. It helped to add important little things that could make a big difference. Because of this, I got other people's opinions on what I had done so far and due to their comments I edited a few things to make it more appealing to my target audience. If I did not take these steps then my target audience wouldn't be attracted to my magazine so you can see why the questionnaire and interview played such a vital role in the production of my music magazine. At first, I didn't see much point in researching why I used what font I did because I just chose it based on how it looked. however, after I researched it I found out the different effects some fonts can have on a magazine which in the end led me into picking the correct font that I needed for my magazine.
This image shows the progress I have made since I first started the course, the image on the left is the first front cover I made before I had any experience and the image on the right is my final image of my front cover to date. This image shows the skills I have learnt and the experience I have gained from the tasks that have been set for me. I made the image on the left before I knew how to use Photoshop and Indesign properly, the image on the right clearly shows that I now know how to use them both properly to help me in my media work.
