Target Audience Interview
I set up a cross section of an audience of 5 males and 5 females within the age range of 10-60 who also chose that their preferred genre of music is pop.
The following is a message I sent out to a few different people of both genders:
"By now you should have seen the final design of my music magazine and I would like to ask you a few questions about it. Has my music magazine appealed to your liking and if so, how?
Do you like the atmosphere and the feel of the magazine while you were reading it?"
These are some of the responses I received:
Response 1 (Male):
"As soon as I was given the magazine I thought that it looked very good and professional. I thought that the fonts used worked well together however, I think the text could of been smoothed down a bit. But other than that I really liked the magazine."
Response 2 (Female):
"I received the magazine through the post and I thought that it was made by a professional, I like everything about the front cover except I felt that a better image could of been used as the main image. But overall, I thought that it related well to the music genre 'pop'."
Response 3 (Male):
"I do like the magazine but I think that there is a few areas that could be improved, I think that you could use more text around the main image and maybe change the colour of the person in the background to make it work better with the colour of the background. Other than this I think it's a great start for someone who has no past experience of making a magazine."
Response 4 (Female):
"I think that the shirt and tie used in the main image is a good choice of clothing as it is a smart-casual look and a lot of 'pop stars' these days wear this kind of stuff so it links well with the genre you have chosen. I think that the font used really pops out which is what you want due to the genre. Also, I think that the use of different sized text creates a more fun and adventurous feeling."
